The Maxx's Cardboard Box
Sara James
The daughter of Mr. Gone and Tilly, Sara's first big trauma in life was when her father left her and her mother. It happened when she was too young to remember, but the feelings are still there, because her father was very important to her. For one reason or another Mr. Gone started raping and murdering, but Tilly lied to Sara and told her that he was dead, that he'd taken a gun and gone into his office and killed everybody, then himself.

Sara wants to be a writer, and judging from the stories she tells in #4 she won't do too badly for herself. Maybe it's her looks and maybe it's her attitude, but she's not popular at school, so she hangs out with whoever she can. "Whoever she can" usually means other unpopular people, but they're usually unpopular for different reasons.

When Sara seems depressed, Tilly takes her to see Julie, who's a free-lance social worker and a friend. Sara also likes to sit under an underpass and talk to the Maxx, who's crazier than she is.

Sara is 16 or 17 (in #1-20), with long black curly hair, glasses and a problem complexion. Since she's Mr. Gone's daughter, she may have some of the dream-power he seems to possess. She's upset that her father killed himself, then she's upset when she finds out that her mother lied about him killing himself, then she's upset that her father became a rapist and murderer. After that she starts to come to terms with it all, but I'm sure her problems are far from solved.
